January 12, 2009 – Gold Eagle values are looking positive as the gold spot price rebounds from a $10 loss this morning due to hasty investment movements after investors found out the results of last year’s job data analysis, which ended up being horrible. Nearly 2.6 million jobs were lost in 2008 and 1.9 million jobs were destroyed in just the last four months, this is the biggest job loss since 1945, when World War II ended and 2.70 5 million jobs were lost as the wartime economy shut down. Unemployment levels rise to 7.2%, which is the highest we see in 16 years, and this alone could spike gold eagle values in the near future as people seek anything that can survive these dark times. The numbers were worse than expected and things can continue to get worse unless global leaders step in and save the economy quickly and effectively while they still can.

Gold rebounded after a small decline this morning and went from $846 per ounce to around $858.50 per ounce, which is a $1.60 increase for the day and a $48.90 increase in the last 30 days. Gold Eagle values in the bullion varieties have gained value respectively to their bullion and investment grade certified rare Double Eagles have moved up a little bit as well according to their rarity to bullion ratio. With projections looking great for the near future, we can only expect the worst and hope for the best by preparing our portfolios with the appropriate precious metals and by keeping our eyes on gold Eagle values.
