Daily Gold Eagle Update

April 23, 2009 – The recently released negative economic data is piling up both short-term and long-term fears in the minds of many investors around the country, and several of these investors are making the wise decision to enter the gold Eagle market for both profit and preservation purposes. As you may already know, the two most popular products in the gold Eagle market are the newer bullion American Eagles and the certified investment grade rare $20 Saint-Gaudens. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages, so the proper diversification always depends on the investor’s needs in goals. Flocks of new investors are beginning to purchase physical possession precious metals after banks posted lower-than-expected quarterly earnings and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner reported that “the world economy is going through the most severe crisis and generations.” The United States jobless rate has also risen to 8.9% this year with a forecasted 10.1% by 2010. This is definitely not a time for complacency, and as wise investors we need to begin the proper preventative measures from darker days that may lie ahead for the global economy.

By around 2:30 PM Eastern Standard Time, the gold Eagle market is seeing more new investors, and it’s been proved by the significantly higher spot price that currently sits at $904.80 per ounce, increasing 1.58% or the trading session and also increasing .10% in the last 365 trading sessions. Risk aversion along with Indian jewelry demand may continue pushing spot prices into the mid $900 per ounce area; so keep a close eye on the market along with any news that may create short-term sentiment amongst investors.
