22-Karat, American Eagle bullion coins are the most widely purchased bullion coin in the world. They have a fineness of 91.67%. They contain exactly one full Troy ounce of pure gold, unlike their rare coin counterparts, which contain just under (.9675 ounces) one full Troy ounce. ½-ounce, American Eagles have a $25 face value, and are 91.76% fine. These coins weigh .5455 Troy ounces, have a 27-millimeter diameter, and are 2.15 millimeters thick.

¼-ounce, American Eagles carry a face value of $10, and are also 91.67% fine. They weigh .2727 Troy ounces, have a diameter of 22 millimeters, and are 1.78 millimeters thick. They are about the same size as a nickel, and have been used to ornament jewelry.

1/10-ounce Eagles, carry a face value of $5. They are 91.67% fine, and weigh .1091 Troy ounces. These coins are actually smaller than dimes, as their diameter is 16.5 millimeters, and are 1.26 millimeters thick.

Rare, Double Eagle coins, which are $20 Lady Liberty, and $20 Saint Gaudens, 22-Karat gold coins, are both .9675 fine, with an added alloy of silver and copper for durability. Both coins have a diameter of 34 millimeters, and weigh 33.4 grams.
